En jättelik insekt (A giant insect)
 Simrishamn, 2019

Public sculpture for the harbour of Simrishamn, Sweden. The work lends its title from the first sentence in 'The Metamorphosis' by Franz Kafka and it takes the form of a beetle, laying on its back, which is scaled up to human proportions. The beetle is a Carabus Intricatus, one of many endangered insect species native to the area. The sculpture was made as the first in a series of temporary public sculptures as part of the residency program Reconnect, an initiative by Österlenskolan för Konst & Design in collaboration with Simrishamnsbostäder.
The sculpture is now permanently installed at Gallery Rikstolvan.
